What Is the Immigration Salary List?
The Immigration Salary List (ISL) identifies specific occupations where the standard 'going rate' salary is lower than the general threshold. It replaced the Shortage Occupation List (SOL) in 2024.
Key difference from the old SOL: Being on the ISL does NOT lower the general minimum salary of ยฃ41,700. It only allows you to use a lower 'going rate' if that occupation's standard going rate is below the general threshold.
How the ISL Works (With Example)
Example Occupation: Laboratory Technician (SOC 3111)
- Standard 'going rate': ยฃ28,300 per year
- General visa threshold: ยฃ41,700 per year
- Without ISL: You would need ยฃ41,700 (higher threshold applies)
- With ISL: You only need ยฃ28,300 (the going rate applies)
If the going rate is already above ยฃ41,700, being on the ISL provides no advantage.
