Permanent Residence Through a Job Offer in Atlantic Canada
Participating provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Eligibility
- Job offer from a designated employer in Atlantic Canada (TEER 0,1,2,3,4)
- Minimum 1 year
- Language: CLB 4 (for TEER 4 jobs) to CLB 6 (for TEER 0/1 jobs)
- ECA for education obtained outside Canada
- Settlement plan showing genuine intention to live in Atlantic Canada
Employer Requirements
- Be designated by the province
- Offer a full‑time, non‑seasonal job
- Provide settlement support to the worker
- No LMIA required for the work permit if applying for PR at the same time
Advantages of AIP
- Direct permanent residence stream – not a work permit first
- Work permit available while PR processes (approx. 6‑12 months)
- No provincial points system – if you meet the criteria, you qualify
- Great for applicants with lower language scores (CLB 4)
